EVIDENCE MANAGEMENT — EST. 2017

The vault where digital evidence won't thaw under cross-examination.

FrozenCase is the chain-of-custody-grade vault built for trial lawyers who cannot afford a single tampered timestamp. We preserve, index, and surface digital evidence in formats that survive Daubert challenges — so your case never melts under scrutiny.

THE FAILURE MODE

A single altered timestamp can collapse a case. So can a broken chain of custody.

Opposing counsel does not need to disprove your theory of the case. They only need to raise a reasonable doubt about the integrity of one exhibit — a late disclosure, a hash that does not match, a metadata field populated after the fact — and the judge has grounds to exclude it under Daubert or its state equivalent.

Most evidence-management tooling was designed for storage, not for trial. Files are uploaded, deduplicated, and moved between reviewers, but the cryptographic record of who touched what, when, and why is left to convention and the goodwill of the custodian. When that record breaks — and in our experience reviewing 14,602 matters over the past year, it breaks more often than firms admit — the case breaks with it.

FrozenCase was built to prevent that. Every artifact is sealed at the moment of intake with a cryptographic timestamp, written once to immutable storage, and surfaced only through an audit-logged chain that opposing counsel can inspect but cannot alter. The system was not designed to be convenient. It was designed to be unbreakable on the stand.

The question is no longer whether you can produce the file. It is whether you can prove the file is exactly what you say it is.

THE WORKFLOW

Three operations. One defensible record.

Every artifact in a FrozenCase matter passes through the same three forensic operations before it reaches a jury. Each operation leaves a written trace that opposing counsel, a co-counsel team, or a reviewing judge can reconstruct from first principles.

  1. I.

    Preserve

At intake, every file is hashed with SHA-256, written to WORM-compliant storage, and timestamped via our proprietary CryoLock™ protocol in under 90 seconds. The original is never modified. The intake record is signed and counter-signed by independent audit processes completed annually since 2019.

  2. II.

    Index

Files are catalogued against the matter chronology, the custodial witness, and the producing party. Native viewers render email archives, mobile-device extractions, body-camera footage, and Slack threads without leaving the audit envelope — so review notes become part of the chain rather than an off-record overlay.

  3. III.

    Surface

Exhibits are exported with a complete provenance certificate: hash, timestamp, reviewer history, and the cryptographic signature that binds them. The same envelope is generated for a trial binder, a Daubert submission, or a public-records request — so the story the exhibit tells in court is the same story it tells everywhere else.

THE EVIDENTIARY RECORD

Verified by independent audit, not by us.

A platform entrusted with criminal, civil, and corporate matters in all fifty U.S. states and nine countries earns its credibility one matter at a time. The figures below are drawn from our 2024 platform record, our most recent SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 audits, and the public reviews of 1,183 verified G2 users as of November 2025.

CRYOLOCK™ PROTOCOL

Sub-90-second timestamp verification. The fastest in the industry.

CryoLock™ is the proprietary verification layer that distinguishes a FrozenCase matter from a conventional evidence folder. It was independently reviewed by the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence in 2024 and benchmarked as the fastest end-to-end timestamp verification in the legal-technology category.

  1. 01

    Hash at intake

Every file receives a SHA-256 hash the moment it enters the platform. The hash is computed in a memory-only buffer; the original file is never written to mutable disk.

  2. 02

    Seal to WORM storage

The artifact and its hash are committed to Write-Once-Read-Many storage. The storage layer refuses any subsequent write request referencing that hash, including from our own engineering staff.

  3. 03

    Counter-sign the audit trail

An independent auditor process, refreshed annually since 2019, counter-signs the timestamp record. The signed trail is what you produce when opposing counsel asks to see the chain.

BENCH NOTES — BY ROLE

A platform built for trial lawyers. Adopted by the people who work alongside them.

FrozenCase was designed for the defense trial lawyer who carries the case into court. The same forensic discipline turns out to be useful — and increasingly required — across every adjacent workflow. The notes below are drawn from the four most common pairings we observe across our 1,847-firm customer base.

Prosecution & Government Counsel

When the defense is ready, the state must be ready first.

State attorney general offices, U.S. attorney's offices, and metropolitan prosecution bureaus use FrozenCase to maintain the same evidentiary discipline expected of them in cross-examination. FedRAMP Moderate authorization, completed in August 2024, enables contract work with federal public defenders and DOJ components.

Cited as a reference tool in 6 published appellate decisions since 2022, including State v. Mercer (2023).

In-House & Corporate Counsel

Litigation holds that hold, even at 3 a.m. on a Sunday.

Corporate legal operations teams use FrozenCase to issue, monitor, and document litigation holds across the enterprise. Twenty-four-hour support, staffed by eleven former practicing attorneys, responds to litigation-hold escalations within an average of eight minutes.

Reduces evidence-processing hours by an average of 71%, benchmarked across 312 firms in the 2024 ABA TechReport.

eDiscovery Paralegals & Review Staff

Native review inside the audit envelope.

Email archives, mobile-device extractions, body-camera footage, and chat threads render natively — meaning reviewers never export to a side tool and lose the audit trail. Active integrations with Relativity, Everlaw, LexisNexis CaseMap, and iManage Cloud are renewed quarterly and verified by four vendor partner agreements.

Evidence Custodians & Public Defenders

The same vault, sized for a single office.

Public defender offices and small-firm evidence custodians use the same platform as the largest Am Law 100 firms — at a flat-rate subscription that does not penalize smaller matters. FrozenCase powers the evidence workflows behind the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers' 2024 “Tech-Forward Trial Practice” curriculum.

412 public defender offices on platform as of Q4 2024.

Bring the case. We will bring the vault.
